Call for Poster and Lightning Talk Proposals for MLA ‘24

The 2024 National Program Committee invites proposals that support the annual meeting theme “Stronger Together.” The MLA 2024 submission site for Poster and Lightning Talks is now open and will remain open until January 25, 2024.

Posters and Lightning Talks are great ways to share information about research or programs. This could be your year to present at the MLA annual conference!

Round 2: Posters and Lightning Talks

Posters are highly visual presentations.

  • Accepted poster presenters will have the opportunity to participate in a poster session at the in-person conference where they can answer questions.
  • Presenters will be asked to record their presentation for on-demand viewing.

Submit Poster Abstract

Lightning Talks are limited to five minutes.

  • Presenters will participate in sessions and can answer questions during and after the session.
  • Presenters will be asked to record their presentation for on-demand viewing.

Submit Lightning Talk Abstract

Submit Your Abstract

Like Papers, Posters and Lightning Talks can be submitted as a program or as research proposal. Submissions require a structured abstract. More information about structured abstracts can be found at The Structured Abstract: An Essential Tool for Researchers.

All submission types should focus on one of the following areas of practice: Clinical Support, Education, Health Equity & Global Health, Information Management, Information Services, Innovation & Research Practice, or Professionalism & Leadership.

MLA ‘24 will offer a limited number of sessions virtually with the majority to be held at the in-person conference in Portland. You will be asked to provide your preference for presentation (Live Virtual Session or In-Person Session) at the time of submission. If selected, you will be able to provide your final preferences in January 2024.

If you have submitted a Paper proposal that was not accepted, consider updating the abstract and submitting the topic for consideration as a Poster or Lightning Talk.

Round 2 submissions are due January 25, 2024, at 11:59 p.m., eastern time. Please enter your submission early to avoid a last-minute rush and allow time for any assistance.

Find more information on the submission process at MLA ’24 FAQ: Papers, Posters, Lightning Talks, and Immersion Sessions.
